Annalisa Azzoni is Assistant Professor of Hebrew Bible and Ancient Near Eastern Cultures in Vanderbilt University/'s Divinity School, Graduate Department of Religion, and Religious Studies Department. Dr. Azzoni teaching interests span from the Hebrew Bible to various West Semitic languages, to Ancient Near Eastern history, with a particular focus on women and sexuality. An internationally-respected specialist of Aramaic, Dr. Azzoni has developed her professional experience in Italy, Israel, and the United States. She is currently working at her two books: The Private Life of Women in Persian Egypt, and Aramaic Legal Texts from the Neo-Assyrian to the Roman Empire. Dr. Azzoni is also involved as the editor of the Aramaic Texts in the Persepolis Fortification Archive Project.
