A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Katherine is thrilled to be back in Music City and working at Vanderbilt.  An ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), she especially enjoys doing discernment with individuals around questions of vocation and ministerial formation.  Prior to arriving at Vanderbilt, Katherine served as Director of the Duke Youth Academy for Christian Formation in Durham, NC and as Managing Director of Princeton Project 55, Inc. (now AlumniCorps) in Princeton, NJ.   In her free time, Katherine enjoys running, reading, travel, and eating homemade cupcakes.  She welcomes your suggestions for great places to eat in Nashville!  Katherine and her husband, Bart Smith, Associate Director of Development for Vanderbilt Athletics, have been married since 2007.  They have one daughter, Eleanor.
