Katherine H. Smith

Assistant Dean for Admissions, Vocation, and Stewardship

A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Katherine loves Music City and working at Vanderbilt. Katherine and her colleagues in the Office of Admissions, Vocation, and Stewardship support students throughout the arc of their Divinity career, through vocational discernment, admissions and financial aid, and career planning.

An ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Katherine especially enjoys helping individuals think through questions of vocation and formation.  Prior to arriving at Vanderbilt, Katherine served as Director of the Duke Youth Academy for Christian Formation in Durham, NC and as Managing Director of Princeton Project 55, Inc. (now AlumniCorps) in Princeton, NJ. In her free time, Katherine enjoys participating in the full life cycle of food: gardening, cooking, and enjoying Nashville's amazing local cuisine. Katherine and her husband, Bart Smith, Director of the National Commodore Club and Vanderbilt Athletics Development, have two daughters.
