Become a VDS Ambassador
Who are VDS Ambassadors?
A VDS Ambassador’s responsibilities are two-fold: to connect fellow alumni/ae within your district more fully with VDS, and to encourage philanthropic support. We will send 3-4 emails per year with this goal in mind. Divinity’s Development and Alumni Relations office will draft the emails, providing you an opportunity to review and personalize prior to being sent. Serving as a VDS Ambassador is a meaningful volunteer role that unites alumni/ae and colleagues in the common cause of engaging and supporting the Vanderbilt Divinity School. Peer-to-peer outreach is highly effective in increasing alumni/ae participation. Although the time commitment will be minimal, your impact will be tremendous for the Divinity School!
- Keep classmates informed of news and updates from Vanderbilt Divinity School.
- Encourage participation at events and activities, such as the annual Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner, and the various lecture series.
- Make an annual gift of any size to the Divinity School, and include VDS annual giving information in outreach to other alumni/ae. Encourage participation in Giving Day on June 15, 2017.
- Consider other methods to support VDS, such as hosting a Seminary Sunday to benefit current VDS students through an offering taken at their congregation.
