Ordination

This is a picture outside of the Divinity School

In its Master of Divinity (M.Div.) curriculum, VDS provides students seeking ordination in most major denominations access to required courses. Through its wide network of congregations in the area, our Theological Field Education program provides such students with excellent denominationally appropriate placements under the guidance of highly qualified mentors.

VDS also provides a Religious Liaison Program. The program exists to foster meaningful connections between students and faith-based communities, providing opportunities for professional and spiritual growth. Through biannual gatherings during Weekly Worship and Coffee Hour, liaisons engage students in discussions that explore denominational, professional (ordination or vocational discernment), and academic networking opportunities. The conversations this program provides also serves as a platform to support students in cultivating spiritual habits and professional integrity while offering guidance on valuable formation.
